Dingo Farms is located of Ontario’s Green belt region, bordering the Holland Marsh at Highways 400/88.
A thriving family owned and run farm nestled in an area steeped in Canadian agriculture. The Harrison family has been productive for over a century. The fourth generation of Harrisons, Dennis & Denise and their children are privileged to be the present caretakers of this farm and following deeply rooted traditions of land stewardship and naturally slow grown healthy livestock.
Our family and team of dedicated employees work hard together and share a common passion of building a sustainable farm and future for our land and children. Diversity is our key to following nature’s patterns and helping our environment along the way.
All our livestock is slow and naturally raised with straw and open concept with access to the outdoors, where permitting. The hands on approach to raising livestock maintains contact and assurance that our animals are respected and satisfied, which in turn provides a consistent quality supply of product.
All our animals are fed with non-GMO grains and silage, dry hay and pasture in season. The animals are only given pure trace minerals supplemented with flax, mustard, canola seed and field peas. This feed combination boosts the omega 3, & 6 content, flavour and texture in the finished product as well as improve the overall health of the animals.
All feeds and pasture are grown on our own farm utilizing our own compost as its main fertilizer source. Local provincially inspected abattoirs provide quality butchering as well as dry aging.
This is an important piece of our puzzle to keep it local and ensure as much of a stress free environment as possible for our animals. We do all handling of the animals from transportation to/from the abattoirs. It is important to us to keep personal contact with our purchasers and open dialogue regarding our products. We have an on farm freezer to assist in ensuring a quality product is maintained.
We are LFP certified and members of Homegrown Ontario. Our products are available at our local farmers market, online and farm sales by appointment. www.dingofarms.com
